The following are short videos
of some spots of interest in Second Life. |
|
The first link is to a video about archetypal images in literature. I tried to keep them really short so I did not explore any of the areas completely. This one is about 3.5 minutes. It is a nice display of ways to present information that can be kept and printed out, as well as linking to websites. The setting is a cave and there are points where you have to answer a question correctly to continue.
The second link is to an Edgar Allen Poe site. It is not as complex as the Archetype site. The video is about 2 minutes. The sound messed up and I just cut out the soundtrack and added a few Camtasia callouts to replace narration. The third link is a quick tour of the College of Education and Human Development island. There is space available there to set up an office and have F2F (or A2A) meetings. If you wanted to do some sort of class presentations with PowerPoint it could be done but that may not be the best use of the format. The CEHD tour is a little under 5 minutes.
A really nice new site is one that portrays Fahrenheit 451 scenes. You can dress like a character and move through different scenes. Although, in this case, the scenes move around you. As you finish with one another pops up around you. I haven't had the time to make a video. You can find it in Second Life using the Search button or IM Evert Snook and I'll send you the landmark ( a landmark is a Second Life address).
