The University of Louisiana at Monroe will resume all classes and business operations on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.

Students and employees should report to classes or work as scheduled.

All university services, including resident and food servies, will be fully operational.

Dear Colleagues,

Our most important priority is maintaining the safety of our employees and students. Due to the uncertainty of the weather, ULM will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 16. ULM will resume normal business operations on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Our vice presidents will inform the employees who will work to maintain building system operations, as well as continued resident student services and safety.

Weather-related campus incident

At approximately 2:10 p.m. today, a tree limb fell onto a building located at 905 Filhiol Ave., formerly known as the police sub station.

The building, which now houses the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, was empty at the time and no one was injured. Emergency personnel immediately responded to the scene, detected gas, and turned off the gas.

Workers have already begun to clean up the area.

Classes for Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 are cancelled.

Due to expected inclement weather, the University of Louisiana at Monroe is closed today, Tuesday, Jan. 15.

All classes are cancelled. ULM officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and reassess Wednesday operations tomorrow morning. 

The respective vice presidents will inform employees who will work to maintain building system operations, as well as continued resident student services and safety. 

To ensure residents have access to meals and activities, the Student Union Building will be open until 6 p.m., and Schulze Cafeteria will be open until 8 p.m.

The ULM Library will be open from 12 noon until 5 p.m. today. The ULM Activity Center, which opened at 6 a.m., will remain open until 5 p.m. today.
