ULM Alumni Association

About the Alumni Association

Our Mission - To support the fulfillment of ULM's mission through the meaningful engagement of our alumni.

Our Objectives - To maximize the number of our alumni who are meaningfully engaged with ULM, to add value to ULM's efforts in fundraising, student recruitment and political support, and to develop additional capacity to add value in these and other areas of university endeavors.

Our History - The Alumni Association was organized in 1952 for the benefit of Northeast Louisiana State College alums. The first president of the Alumni Association was Mr. Pascal Norris of Monroe. In 1999 the organization became the ULM Alumni Association. In 1960 the first alumni chapter, Caddo-Bossier, was formed. Since that time domestic, international, and academic chapters have followed, with 31 active alumni chapters. ULM alumni are located worldwide. Today the ULM Alumni Association draws its membership from over 65,000 graduates.


Executive Committee - The Executive Committee consists of the four (4) elected officers of the Alumni Association and the immediate past President. The Executive Director for the Alumni Association serves as an ex-officio member. The Executive Committee, in the interim between the meetings of the Board of Directors, exercises all the powers of the Alumni Association, including all powers conferred upon the Board of Directors.

Golden Arrow Committee - The Golden Arrow Committee consists of three (3) former Golden Arrow recipients, the President of the Alumni Association, and two (2) ex-officio members from University Advancement. The President of the Alumni Association serves as Chairperson. It is the responsibility of the Golden Arrow Committee to select the appropriate recipient for the Golden Arrow Award, presented at the Alumni Awards Dinner during Homecoming.

Nominating Committee - The Nominating Committee consists of alumni representatives from each region. Members are nominated by the Executive Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. The Chairperson is elected during the first meeting of the Nominating Committee. It is the responsibility of the Nominating Committee to recommend candidates to fill vacancies on the ULM Alumni Association Board of Directors.

31 Ambassadors Liaison Committee - The 31 AmbassadorsLiaison Committee consists of four (4) alumni, three of which are former members of 31 Ambassadors, the past President, and the Advisor(s). The Secretary-Treasurer of the Alumni Association serves as Chairperson. It is the responsibility of the Liaison Committee to serve as a liaison between the 31 Ambassadors Alumni Service Organization and the Alumni Association and assist in conducting interviews of potential candidates for membership in 31 Ambassadors for the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Special Events Committee - The Special Events Committee consists of twelve (12) alumni. The President-Elect of the Alumni Association serves as Chairperson. It is the responsibility of the Special Events Committee to solicit volunteer assistance in planning, organizing, and hosting various alumni activities and special events throughout the year.
