Our Mission
In accord with the mission of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, the ULM Office of Assessment and Evaluation (OAE) strives to increase the quality of education and services offered to our students. By providing support for assessment and evaluation of both academic programs and administrative units, the OAE provides evidence of continuous improvement and ensures that the university is effectively accomplishing its mission.
The process of assessment at ULM is a continuous cycle of improvement, as the graphic below illustrates.
Departments and units plan how to assess defined priorities whether student learning or unit performance, implement the measures in assessment plan, and analyze the resulting information to determine the level of performance in context of defined targets.
Finally, the department or unit makes any necessary improvements based on the results and analysis of the assessment process. The plan for improving performance and continued measurement of that performance continues the cycle.
