The University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Business and College of Education DREAM Office will partner with CenturyLink to present CenturyLink Saturday Academies—an exciting business program for middle school students.
On Friday, Sept. 20, the University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Education and Human Development’s Developing Rigorous Experiential Academic Models (DREAM) Office partnered with CenturyLink to present CenturyLink Reader Leaders—a new literacy initiative program for the area.
The 2013 President’s Academy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe ended with a banquet and awards ceremony, recognizing the hard work of the academy participants, and the ULM faculty and staff who made the academy possible.
High-ability high school juniors and seniors will set off to the University of Louisiana at Monroe for the second year of President's Academy July 7-12. Participants will choose one of the four exclusive externships offered by companies that have partnered with ULM on this endeavor.
Through a partnership between JASON Learning, the Louisiana Department of Education, and the University of Louisiana at Monroe's Developing Rigorous Experiential Academic Models (DREAM) Office, 50 middle school educators have the opportunity to become JASON teachers by attending one of two free workshops offered that focus on weather and ecology July 2-3.
The University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Education and Human Development DREAM Office and the NASA Stennis Space Center will present two free workshops for area teachers and education students, Friday, March 1, in Strauss Hall, room 148. The registration deadline is Feb. 19.
DREAM is collaborating with Red Stick Robotics, NASA and local businesses to put Robotics into the middle and high school Math and Science classrooms.
Chase High School Robotics: The University of Louisiana at Monroe faculty have partnered with Red Stick Robotics to develop the curriculum and provide the professional development and technology for six robotics-based modules in 9th grade Physical Science and 10th grade Geometry classes.
Middle School Robotics Professional Development: Free professional development workshops for educators and Math and Science curriculum modules are available.
This program places CenturyLink employees and ULM education teacher candidates in local elementary schools twice per month for the purpose of interaction and enlightenment. Participants will read aloud books related to careers in business while sharing their own experiences in the world of work as they relate to characters and themes within the books. Click to register
