Bio-terrorism expert to present Ebola pandemic seminar at ULM

Colonel Stanley John Whidden M.D., Ph.D., will give a special presentation on the recent Ebola virus pandemic, at 5:30 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 24, on the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus, in the Student Union Ballroom, located on the second floor of the Student Union Building.

ULM's Hanser lectures to Chinese Military on immigration and border security

Professor Robert D. Hanser, coordinator of the criminal justice program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, was a recent guest of the Chinese People's Armed Police Academy (CPAPFA), in Langfang, China. During his stay, Hanser provided lectures and training to border security officers and military personnel of the People's Republic of China.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe communication program in conjunction with the Speech and Debate Forum will welcome Dr. Chad Kautzer at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 18, in ULM's Chemistry and Natural Sciences Building, Room 100, to present, "Homelessness, Security, and the Politics of Space." Kautzer's presentation is part of the university's Traveling Scholar Series. The event is free and open to the public.

Miss ULM 2015 expands her platform

After being crowned Miss University of Louisiana at Monroe 2015, Lauren Ford, a pharmacy major from Monroe, immediately began preparing for the Miss Louisiana competition in June. However, one aspect of the Miss Louisiana competition--the contestant's platform--comes naturally for Lauren, as she has spent almost her entire life practicing and informing others of the lessons of her platform, "Character Counts!"
