Present:  Dean Ryman, Dr. Oliver, Ms. Hayes, Mr. Bennett, Dr. Gibson, Ms. Calk, Dr. Jessica Dolecheck, Ms. Doughty, Ms. Jarrell, Ms. Wisenor

Absent but excused:  Dr. Boult and Dr. Fellows.

 

  • Campus Messaging: Contact Amy Weems for assistance with problems regarding campus messaging

 

  • KNOE 30-second spots:  KNOE doing free segments on COHS. Approval needed by Dean prior to submission of segments to KNOE.

 

  • Tucker Commission-Low Completer Programs: Tucker commission currently meeting; plans are for commission work to be completed by February. A low completer program is defined as an undergraduate program graduating 10 or less students per year. COHS not identified with any low completer programs.

 

    • Request for the program review document as related to Tucker. Due date for program review of each program due Dec 15 to be submitted to Dean and copy to Dr. Oliver.  Maximum length of document is 2 pages and should highlight strengths of program. A profile excel spreadsheet will be populated and sent to Department Heads by Dr. Pani within the next week. Department Heads should review this carefully and submit to the Dean’s office before Dec. 15. Program reviews will be used by Provost and President as needed to address issues/questions from Tucker.

 

Department Updates

  • SLP:  Served 50 clients this semester; updated the SLP website; three faculty attended ASHA (two presented research).
  • Nursing:  Re-accreditation visit scheduled for April 14-16; Received 85 applicants to nursing program; Emily Doughty progressing toward completion of doctoral degree set for December 2009. Nursing convocation scheduled December 18th at 3PM.
  • RADT:  Discussed staffing issues related to management of on-campus and online courses.
  • CLS:  Website updated, site visit scheduled for March 10-11, 2010
  • OTA: Increasing GPA to apply to 2.7; Developing new method for management of OTA clinics for spring; Patti & Carolyn providing training to FW sites
  • DH: Developing online courses and faculty enrolled in moodle training; curriculum changes submitted to UCC
  • HLST : Working on 2+2 articulation with OTA; faculty working with BPCC to  developing courses for associate degree in healthcare management/marketing and 2+2 articulation;

 

 

Miscellaneous:

  • Dr. Ryman reported that the open house for Nursing/CLS/RADT Building is being planned by university administration.
  • CALL center: located at old PJs along side of admission and recruitment, Denise Duplechin is managing this with GA’s; this is point of entry for GOLD/CALL students where all inquiries will be addressed and getting students admitted to ULM.
  • Pay for COHS adjunct to teach online: $3500
  • COHS Christmas Party: Dec 9th from 11:30 – 1 in Sugar 153; catered by Aramark; come and go event
