Online Degrees

ULM Health Studies offers two 100% online degree programs.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies (BS) online offering is available to non-traditional students, who may earn a BSHS degree completely online following the Healthcare Management/Marketing degree plan option. Students must meet ULM admission requirements to be accepted into the BSHS online degree program.

Students in the BS Program complete specific courses in the Healthcare Management/Marketing option according to a planned and structured program of study. Students fulfill core degree requirements and major/professional curriculum requirements in a logical sequence. The sequence is intended to facilitate success in the overall degree requirements.

The core curriculum in the first two years is designed to provide students with a foundation in the humanities, mathematics, and sciences. During the second two years, the Healthcare Management/Marketing option provides for a broad focus on business basics, healthcare delivery system, cultural diversity, ethics and leadership in healthcare.

The COTA to BSHS Bridge Program is designed to provide an opportunity for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to earn a Bachelor's of Science in Health Studies (BSHS) and advance to application to the Master’s in Occupational Therapy (MOT) program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  The BSHS is designed for the COTA graduate to transfer approximately 64 associate degree credit hours toward the bachelor’s degree; thus, accelerating baccalaureate completion in as little as three (3) full time semesters.

In addition, the BSHS includes all necessary pre-requisites to prepare the OTA for application to the MOT program.

The BSHS in Healthcare Management/Marketing degree will not only prepare OTAs for application to the MOT program at ULM, but also prepares students for mid-level managerial employment in healthcare. Students take health studies courses such as Social Epidemiology, Healthcare Law, Healthcare Ethics and business courses which include Marketing, Management, and Finance.  The BSHS degree provides a well-rounded background in healthcare business that enables students to advance in their careers with managerial responsibilities.
