ESLG 104

 

ESLG 104 is a 3 credit-hour advanced course in reading and vocabulary for non-native speakers of English.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES: To improve students’ mastery of English vocabulary, idiom, and reading comprehension, and to advance international students’ understanding of the principal rhetorical modes of composition which are utilized in American academic writing.

 

TESTS AND OTHER GRADED WORK:  4 equally weighted tests

                                                                             1 final exam (which equals 2 regular tests)

 

            The remainder of a student’s grade will be determined by quizzes, homework

            assignments, and participation in the classroom.

ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to attend classes regularly and to be on time. Unexcused absences will result in a grade of zero for that day’s work. Students with 3 unexcused absences will be reported to the dean of their college.
