Poverty Point Station Archaeologist to give lecture at ULM Oct. 29

Dr. Diana Greenlee, Poverty Point Station Archaeologist and adjunct assistant professor at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, will give free lecture on recent work done at the Poverty Point historical site at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the ULM Library’s Special Collections suite located on the fifth floor of the ULM Library.

The lecture is featured as part of Louisiana Archaeology Month and is sponsored by the Advocates for Poverty Point, the Northeast Louisiana Archaeological Society, and ULM Library Special Collections.

Greenlee was recently named Archaeologist of the Year for Louisiana—the state's highest archaeology award. Greenlee has been the Poverty Point Archaeologist since 2006, overseeing the archaeological research at the site.

Greenlee received her Ph.D. from the University of Washington, and has taught at ULM for over six years.
