“It was an honor and a pleasure to be asked to present at this concert series, ‘Midsummer Nights, in San Antonio,’” said Jones. “The choir and choral scholars of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Antonio are making a pilgrimage to Gloucester Cathedral in the United Kingdom in July 2015. Donations received during these recitals will help defray their cost of travel.”

Jones performed selections from oratorio and opera, as well as art song—both secular and sacred.

“It was fun to collaborate with ULM alumni Henry (Hank) Tharpe, a 2010 Master of Music in Piano Performance graduate, and Madonna Gil, a 2010 Master of Music in Vocal Performance graduate, as well as former ULM Division of Music Voice Area Chair, Dr. Susan Olson.”

According to their website, St. Paul’s is one of the oldest Episcopal Churches in the Diocese of West Texas, having been founded in 1883. St. Paul’s is a located in a near-inner-city neighborhood parish, adjacent to Fort Sam Houston.

Jones serves as both instructor of voice and staff accompanist at ULM. His accompanying responsibilities include all university choirs, and private voice and instrumental studios, where he has performed, conducted, accompanied, and directed in a number of music programs and events.

Jones has been active as a vocalist in both university and community theatre productions since his student years, starring in such classics as “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Die Zauberflöte,” “A Forever Plaid Christmas,” and “Le Nozze di Figaro.” Other stage work includes vocal solo performances in collaboration with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra and Twin City Ballet Company. His musical work extends into the surrounding region through his positions as choirmaster, performer, and accompanist for various houses of worship, schools, and community centers. Jones also maintains a private voice and piano studio in Monroe.
