Workforce Development Training funds awarded to ULM

Dr. Jan Bowman, Professor of Gerontology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, was recently awarded a two-year Workforce Development Training Grant on behalf of Faulk and Foster Real Estate.

The competitive grant award of $195,903, which came from Secretary of Labor Garey Forster, will assist the employees at Faulk and Foster with specific skills training within the telecommunications and real estate industry.

As Faulk and Foster's Training Provider, ULM will coordinate: academic training, custom designed courses, professional development seminars, management of non-university training services and assessments of the Incumbent Worker Training Program.

It is anticipated that as a result of the training, 29 of the 66 Faulk and Foster employees enrolled in the program will be advanced and eight new positions will be added.
