Panhellenic has many activities panned for The Month of the Scholar

The University of Louisiana at Monroe College Panhellenic Association and its four chapters will join more than 620 College Panhellenic Associates and 2,900 chapters across North America during October to celebrate The Month of the Scholar.

Panhellenic President, Trischa Hunene, says, "All of our international organizations and chapters are committed to good scholarship. We are excited about joining with out inter-sorority sisters to create academic awareness. We will be showcasing achievements and celebrating success during the month of October."

Events begin this Thursday, Oct. 11, with the Scholarship Banquet at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building Auditorium. On Oct. 16, Tuesday, from 9:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Dun-Dum lollipops will be handing out to ULM students in front of the Administration Building. The lollipops will have a note attached saying "Don't be a dum-dum, study hard!!". On Oct 17, Wednesday, at 6:00 p.m., in the Nursing Auditorium, there will be an educational program on taking notes. On Oct. 18 and 31 at 5:00 p.m., the chapters will read to children at the local YWCA Battered Women's Shelter.

ULM's women's chapters, through their international organizations, are members of the National Panhellenic Conference, the umbrella organization for twenty-six international women's fraternities.
