Digger's Night Out to be Held Thursday

The ULM School of Construction, in conjunction with the Ouachita Joint Utility Council, will host its fourth annual Digger's Night Out on Thursday, October 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the University Conference Center on the seventh floor of the University Library. Digger's Night Out is a nationwide program focusing on underground utility damage prevention and safety education.

This free safety awareness program, sponsored by public utilities, pipelines, and communication companies, is geared toward contractors, foremen, operators and anyone who digs underground. Guest Speaker for the event, David Dorsch, of Dorsch Consulting, will discuss his experience and involvement in the cleaning-up of the World Trade Center site. David Dorsch is a 1972 ULM Construction graduate.

A buffet style dinner will be served, and numerous door prizes will be awarded. Sponsors for Digger's Night Out include the Association of Louisiana Utility Councils, Atmos Energy, Baroid Industrial Drilling Products, BellSouth, Columbia Gulf Transmission, Entergy, Gulf South, Koch Pipeline Co., Louisiana AGC, Louisiana One Call, Rep Com International, Time Warner Cable, ULM School of Construction, Utiliquest, and Williams Gas Pipeline.
