CBER releases 2007 edition of annual economic and demographic fact book for NELA

The Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Louisiana at Monroe has released the 2007 edition of its annual economic and demographic fact book for Northeast Louisiana.

The College of Business Administration’s CBER, in partnership with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, produces the report, available online to anyone needing the information.

Such a source of trustworthy market data allows the region’s economic development agencies to focus their business recruitment efforts. Firms, for example, might use this information to determine whether or not the area is viable for a new location or expansion to an existing one.

The fact book may be obtained in four sections:

“The 2007 edition is much more regional in scope and coverage compared to the last one,” said Bob Eisenstadt, associate professor of economics and chief organizer of the fact book. “The coverage includes all 11 parishes of Northeast Louisiana plus Lincoln Parish, which is not typically included in our region by state agencies.”

The print edition should be ready for distribution around Aug. 1. Some information is available exclusively as a product of ULM's CBER.
