Students receive ADDY awards at luncheon

At the Northeast Louisiana Advertising Club luncheon, held May 9 at ULM, several creative students received their ADDY awards and entrance into the American Advertising Federation national competition in January 2008.

The awards presented at the luncheon resulted from a special competition recognizing university students who are attending during ULM's spring semester. 48 entries were received from 18 students, resulting in 14 Gold and 14 Silver ADDY awards.

The following are winners of this special competition:

The Best of Show award went to Frank Sampognaro with "A4 Shipping Service."

The Judges’ Award for Most Visually Appealing went to Kaitlyn Jones for “Augneau’s Campaign.”

The Judges’ Award for Outstanding Graphics went to Alicyn Franks for “Spring River.”

Silver ADDY awards and ad titles:

Anna Giannobile, Janelle Briggs and Daniel Neathery received certificates for $400 textbook scholarships for the fall 2007 semester.

The Northeast Louisiana Advertising Club presented the awards, and the judges were professional individuals from local advertising agencies.

The regular ADDY competition occurs only once a year. ADDY awards are considered very prestigious accomplishments. As stated on the AAF website, "The ADDY Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types."
