ULM Fall Choral Concert set for Oct. 23

The ULM Fall Choral Concert, featuring the Concert Choir, University Chorale, and Chamber Singers, will occur Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the First Methodist Church in Monroe, beginning
at 7:30 p.m.

Deborah Chandler, assistant professor of music at ULM, will conduct the groups in the free concert, which is open to the public.

“The University of Louisiana at Monroe choral program is growing rapidly and has become a strong educational and cultural attraction in this region,” Chandler said. “The strength of this program is due to the talent and fine musicianship of our students…Our fall concert will be a celebration to honor and remember the many teachers who have given tirelessly to the development of our fine singers.

“At ULM, we believe that music is a language of peace…The many problems and conflicts in our world today call for us to strive for peace; therefore, we have chosen the theme ‘Hope for Resolution’ for this concert. We sincerely invite you to join us as we seek to better our lives through the language of music. Come and commit to a partnership of peace and hope in our city, our state, and our world.”
