Envision at ULM to celebrate “Excellence in Action” Nov. 13

“Excellence in Action” will be on everyone’s minds at the 2008 University of Louisiana Monroe Envision celebration, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 13, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Monroe Civic Center.

The Honorable Jay McCallum ('82), a 3rd Judicial District Court judge, will once again emcee Envision, welcoming attendees and guest speakers as the spotlight turns to the ongoing Excellence in Action at ULM, as well as on the university’s extensive community relationships.

The evening commences with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by McCallum’s opening remarks at 6:30 p.m. The ULM Chamber Singers will perform the ULM Alma Mater and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Dinner then begins; attendees will enjoy their repast while enjoying the ULM Jazz Ensemble’s musical talents.

The Envision program will start at 7:15 p.m. with a special video presentation and public appreciation of university members and community supporters.

The audience will hear from Vice President for University Advancement and External Affairs Don Skelton as he presents the 2008 Hall of Distinction Award to CenturyTel.

A faculty video and a student/alumni video will follow, focusing on the phenomenal successes happening at ULM, which in turn produce great things on a community and world level.

ULM President James Cofer will discuss what it means to be a university; highlighting faculty, staff and student achievements.
