ULM Guest Artists on Campus Concert Series features Ying String Quartet Jan. 28

On Thursday, Jan. 28, the celebrated Ying String Quartet will make its appearance as part of the Guest Artists on Campus Concert Series at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall.

The Ying Quartet occupies a position of unique prominence in the classical music world, combining brilliantly communicative performances with a fearlessly imaginative view of chamber music.

Now in its second decade, the Ying Quartet has established itself as an ensemble of the highest musical qualifications in its tours across the United States and abroad. Works to be performed include Robert Schumann’s Quartet in A Major, Leoš Janácek’s Quartet No. 2, "Intimate Letters," and Ludvig van Beethoven’s Quartet in C Major, Op. 59, No. 3.

Tickets for the general public are $15, and may be purchased at the VAPA office. Students, faculty and staff may be admitted free with school identification.

Call (318) 342-1414 for more information. The Ecoutez Press and the School of Visual and Performing Arts are presenting the performance.
