Walpole to serve as regional president of Pi Kappa Alpha International

The Supreme Council of The Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity recently announced the appointment of Tommy Walpole as Delta Regional President, effective Feb. 28, 2010.

Walpole, associate director of alumni relations at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, will serve a two-year term as a representative of the fraternity in his geographic region. Pi Kappa Alpha has 20 regions in North America.

Regional presidents are charged with recruiting and supporting Pi Kappa Alpha’s alumnus volunteers, chapter advisors, house corporation officers and alumni association leaders.

Walpole is a 1980 initiate of Eta Omicron Chapter at ULM. He has advised the Eta Omicron Chapter since 1984 and he was named Pi Kappa Alpha’s International Chapter Advisor of the Year in 2009.

Walpole also serves as the President of the Eta Omicron Alumni Association and as Vice-President of the chapter’s House Corporation. He is a past president of the local YMCA, a member of the Krewe of Janus, and past state director for CASE.

The Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, originally founded at the University of Virginia in 1868, has grown to an international brotherhood composed of more than 240,000 initiated members, over 220 chapters and 175 alumni associations.
