ULM plays host to Miss Louisiana Style Show Nov. 21

The Miss Louisiana Organization will hold the annual Miss America Style Show featuring Miss Louisiana 2010, Kelsi Crain, and hosted by the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

The show will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, in the Biedenharn Recital Hall.

The style show showcases Miss Louisiana's talent and wardrobe selections as a preview of her trip to compete in the Miss America Pageant.

Crain is a Monroe native and ULM junior majoring in kinesiology.

She was crowned Miss Louisiana in June and has since worked very hard promoting her platform "Heart for the Arts" in preparation of the Miss America Pageant.

"It has been an honor to represent the state as Miss Louisiana for the past four months. I have enjoyed every minute of this opportunity and I cannot wait to compete for Miss America, and hopefully bring the crown home," said Crain.

The Miss America Pageant will be held at the Planet Hollywood Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Jan. 12 – 15, with live televised finals set to air on the ABC Network at 5 p.m. Central Standard Time on Jan. 15. The Miss Louisiana Organization is a volunteer based Board of Directors that works to share the accomplishments of the contestants and provide scholarships to further their education. In 2010, the Miss Louisiana Organization made available over 1.2 million dollars in cash and tuition scholarships.

The Miss America Organization makes available over 45 million dollars in cash and scholarships annually, making them the number one provider of scholarships to young women in the world.
