KEDM seeking volunteers for annual fall drive Oct. 1-8

KEDM Public Radio, 90.3 FM, is recruiting volunteers to help during its upcoming fall on-air membership drive.

The station, which is housed at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, seeks more than 100 volunteers to participate in the fundraising drive either by answering the phones, guest hosting on-the-air, or donating food.

Station Manager Joel Willer said, "Volunteer voices during the membership drives tell the story of public radio in a very personal way, whether on the air or answering phones."

The membership drive will be held Oct. 1-8.

Development director Susan Allain said, "We encourage our listeners to volunteer in our fundraising efforts. We also invite our listeners to join community in supporting their local public radio station by making a monetary donation. It's not the size of the gift that matters; it is the act of making a gift and voting for your favorite programs that does matter."

KEDM, operated by ULM, depends on the financial support of its local listeners and corporate underwriters to air much-needed programs such as in-depth coverage of news and a variety of entertainment programs.

Volunteers are asked to contact Allain at 318-342-5557 or allain@ulm.edu.
