Annual Faculty Artists Series begins; performance set for Aug. 30

A fine music tradition will continue Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s School of Visual and Performing Arts - the Faculty Artist Concert Series. The series begins the season with a performance by Drs. James Boldin, horn, and Richard Seiler, pianist, in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall at ULM.

The concert, free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m.

The program will consist of both original and transcribed works for horn and piano, including Beethoven's "Sonata, Op. 17," "Six Studies in English Folk-Song" by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Emmanuel Chabrier's "Larghetto," and "Fantasie, Op. 13," by C.D. Lorenz.

An unaccompanied work, Stephen Winteregg's "Blue Soliloquy," will round out a program containing a variety of music from the early 19th through late 20th centuries.
