Small business workshops to be held at ULM June 2 and 4

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center will hold two workshops at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

The "Home-Based Business Tax Issues" workshop will be held in the ULM Administration building Room 2-105 on Thursday, June 2, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

The workshop will cover federal tax responsibilities of home-based business owners. Other topics will include business expenses, record keeping, and small business basics.

The workshop will be presented by Gina Jones; a member of the Louisiana Society of Enrolled Agents.

The second workshop, "Starting and Financing a Small Business," will be held Saturday, June 4, from 9 - 11 a.m. in the ULM Administration building Room 2-105.

The workshop is recommended for individuals interested in determining the feasibility of their business idea or those who are planning to start or have already started a small business.

Topics also include ideas for those who may be expanding their business, seeking a small business loan, or want to learn more about planning.

There is no charge for either workshop.
