ULM art student published in Photographer's Forum

University of Louisiana at Monroe senior art student Srdjan Marjanovic of Belgrade, Serbia, was recently published in Photographer's Forum: Magazine for the Emerging Professional.

Photographer's Forum is a quarterly publication dedicated to quality reproduction of photography in the United States and Canada. The magazine also features photographers and their art and offers tips for shooting.

Marjanovic is currently the Co-Managing Editor and photographer for the ULM Hawkeye. The winning photograph of ULM football players was inspired by Marjanovic's 13-year career as a professional basketball player.

As a one of 1,570 student finalists from across the world he will be published in a hardbound book sent to universities and other subscribers as well as published in the magazine sent to photographers.

Marjanovic compares photography to fishing.

"It's intense and difficult and you need great patience in order to be able to capture great shot (fish). In both cases you end up with the trophy that you can be nothing but proud of," he said.

"This achievement would be impossible without my photography professor, Mr. Richard E. Hayes, who gave me the skill and knowledge of photography. Also, I would like to thank Director of Student Publications Christopher Mapp, who encouraged me to participate in this contest."
