ULM Violence Prevention and Intervention Program to host Domestic Violence Forum Oct. 18

The month of October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

With this in mind, the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s 2012 Annual Domestic Violence Forum will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Student Union Building, Ballroom D.

The event is free and open to the public.

Co-directors of the ULM Violence Prevention and Intervention Program, Dr. Robert Hanser, associate professor of criminal justice, and Dr. Pamela Saulsberry, professor of social work, will host the event.

Professors and audience members will participate in an open dialogue regarding domestic violence.

According to Hanser, domestic violence affects many college and university students, staff and faculty, as well as the community at large.

The upcoming forum seeks to provide awareness and prevention information for interested persons, in an effort to reduce future incidents.

All ULM students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend this event; participation from the community is also welcomed.

For more information about the event, please contact Hanser at 318-342-1443 or hanser@ulm.edu
