ULM and Tech partner to offer Business and Economic Outlook Summit April 19

For the past eight years, the University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Business has worked closely with Louisiana Tech’s College of Business to deliver the Business and Economic Outlook Summit for the betterment of the region.

The summit will be held from 8 a.m. 12 p.m., Friday, April 19, at the headquarters of CenturyLink, located at 100 CenturyTel Drive (U.S. Highway 165 North) in Monroe.

As in the past, the local, regional and state outlook will be presented by two local economists, ULM's Dr. Robert Eisenstadt, Associate Professor of Economics and Director of the ULM Center for Business and Economic Research, and Dr. John Francis, Assistant Professor of Economics at Louisiana Tech University.

Their discussions will focus on a wide variety of economic factors impacting our regional and state economy. 

Oppenheimer Asset Management Inc, headquartered in New York, is participating in the summit for the second consecutive year.

Delivering the keynote presentation is John Stoltzfus, Managing Director and Chief Market Strategist for Oppenheimer Asset Management Inc. 

Prior to joining the firm, Stoltzfus served as Senior Market Strategist at Ticonderoga Securities where he provided all macro, market outlook, and strategy ideas to the firm and its clients.

He came to Ticonderoga from Bank of America, where he worked in their Global Wealth & Investment Management Division as Senior Market Strategist in the Investment Strategies Group.

Before Bank of America, Stoltzfus was at Morgan Stanley in a variety of roles, including Vice President of Marketing and Equity Sales, Vice President of Capital Market Solutions, and Vice President of U.S. and International Equity Marketing.

In the early 1990s, John worked at Chase Manhattan Bank as Vice President of Investments, CMIS and GNA securities. He earned a B.A. from Colgate University.
