ULM names three candidates for AD position

The committee charged with finding the next athletic director for the University of Louisiana at Monroe has narrowed the pool to three candidates, each with varied experience in collegiate athletics.

The candidates will each be interviewed by ULM President Dr. Nick J. Bruno in the coming weeks.

"We are pleased to welcome candidates of such high caliber to participate in the next step of the interview process," said Bruno.

"Our goal is to find the most suitable candidate to fill the AD position, and we will continue that process until the very best candidate for ULM is chosen."

ULM AD Search Committee Chair Scott McDonald said he is proud of the committee's hard work throughout the selection process.

"We believe that the three remaining candidates are highly qualified to be the next Athletic Director at ULM," said McDonald.

"As committee chair, it has been a great honor to serve my alma mater in this capacity, and I am proud to be part of a committee that had a hand in choosing the next leader of ULM's growing athletic program.”

Josh Brooks, Brian Wickstrom, and Chris King will be each interviewed by Bruno this month.

Josh Brooks currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director for the University of Georgia, having worked in their athletics department since 2008.

He earned a Master of Sports Administration from Ohio University in 1999 and a Doctor of Education/Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University in 2006.
