Artist Information

Lisa McCalmon (soprano), one of Northeast Louisiana’s favorite entertainers, began singing almost from birth - at least to everyone's earliest recollection. She is the daughter of the late Mr. Kenneth D. Lee, Sr. and Hazel Lee of West Monroe.  She grew up helping her parents run their jewelry business in downtown West Monroe, Lee's Jewelry. At West Monroe High School she sang under Dr. Lloydelle Hopkins and joined her in Europe for a summer tour in 1978.  She was a member of the Electones at ULM under the direction of Dr. Carol Christopher, and was Miss Ouachita Parish 1978. Her career has been a successful run of engagements with the Rod Allen Trio and a frequent soloist with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra’s Winter Pops Series. In November of 2006, she was the guest vocalist at the Dixie Theatre in Ruston with the Big Band Concert with Lawrence Gibbs.  She currently teaches music at Northeast Baptist School, serves as Worship leader for the Contemporary service at First United Methodist Church in West Monroe, serves as worship planner for St. Paschals and a thriving private teaching studio.  Lisa has two children, Tyler and Paige Christiana and is pursuing her master's degree at Louisiana Tech University.

Corey Trahan, Arts Council Visiting Artist, is an active performer in opera, oratorio, musical theatre, operetta and recital venues across the United States. For more information on Mr. Trahan, visit the Art Council’s Visiting Artist link.
