The Northeast Louisiana Arts Council collects and disseminates accurate and timely Arts information, acting as a clearinghouse for cultural information and resources.

Cultural Arts Calendar

This quarterly listing of performances, exhibitions, and other Region 8 Arts Community activities is published to aid Arts and civic organizations in scheduling and to enable patrons to stay abreast of upcoming events.

Art in Action, Our quarterly magazine, is mailed to members and distributed through the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the Monroe/West Monroe Convention & Visitors Bureau, businesses, and parish libraries. Featuring more in-depth information on local arts events, Art in Action presents articles about regional Arts programs and series, local and state Arts advocacy initiatives, profiles of artists and organizations, and commentaries on issues in the Arts world.

Our capable staff handles many questions daily. Assisting residents with information on Arts programming, ticket information, and event scheduling, the Council staff provides requested information, making referrals to regional cultural organizations.

The evolution of a work of public art: from the planning phase to construction of the piece to installation in an all-access children's park. The Dragonfly, as well as the park that is its home, is the result of a coalition of artists, dedicated citizens, and various civic and educational organizations.
