ULM's home page (www.ulm.edu) is the front door to the ULM's Web site. It is a first point of reference for those seeking information about the university through the Web site.
The home page layout, design, navigation links, and content are the responsibility of the Office of Public Information. Certain elements of the home page are fixed, meaning these elements do not change, while other elements are time-related and move on and off the home page based on the message and relevance of the message.
All time-related elements are carefully considered prior to posting on the page, with the emphasis on messages serving the university as a whole.
Due to the limited amount of space, the marketing/branding strategy of the university, and the overall design of ULM's home page, any requests for linking your page from ULM's home page requires a written request explaining the specific need(s) and reason(s) for consideration. A request does not guarantee placement on the home page.
The Office of Public Information and the Director of Web Services, in conjunction with the President’s office, have final decision authority on ULM’s Home page content.
Requests can be submitted to Lisa Miller, Chief Communication Officer, at lmiller@ulm.edu
This policy applies to all Web pages within the "ULM.EDU” domain.
Policy Purpose
1. To comply with IRS regulations concerning tax-exempt status and advertisement and sponsorship.
The IRS defines sponsorship as “a payment for which there is no expectation that the sponsor will receive a ‘substantial return benefit;’ the income received by the sponsored organization is not subject to tax as unrelated business income.”
2. To establish clear and relevant guidelines on how web sponsorships are displayed within the ULM.EDU Web site.
Web-related advertising and sponsorship policies are recommended by the Office of Public Information and the Executive Director of the ULM Foundation and approved by the President’s Executive Council.

On a case-by-case basis, ULM may, in its sole discretion, consider and individually approve proposed sponsorship that is not in strict compliance with certain of the foregoing general guidelines and restrictions.
