Welcome

A Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science is available through the College of Business and Social Sciences.

Political Science is the study of governments, public policies and political processes, systems, and political behavior.

Political science sub-fields include political theory, political philosophy, political ideology, political economy, policy studies and analysis, comparative politics, international relations, and a host of related fields.

Political scientists use both humanistic and scientific perspectives and tools and a variety of methodological approaches to examine the process, systems, and political dynamics of all countries and regions of the world.

Sociology is a systematic study of human interaction. The focus is on the social group, whether it be a two-person group or the whole world community.

In understanding human situations, sociologists go beyond mere "people watching" and idle speculation; they use specialized types of procedures or analysis to make their research more valid and reliable.

Learning Opportunities

Sociology internships are available and made on a case to case basis with local businesses.

Political Science students have been placed in internship positions at local, state and national levels.

Students help faculty with their research and in some cases, lead their own research.

Many classes are available through online instruction.
