Traditional Enhancement Program Objectives. Based on Constitutional and legislative mandates and policies adopted by the Board, proposals will be considered in the Enhancement Program whose objectives are to enhance the infrastructure of academic, research, or agricultural departments or units and to promote economic development. The impact of the proposed project on the enhancement of departments and units--and on the State's economy - may be subtle, indirect, and delayed, or pronounced, direct, and immediate. Special consideration will be given to:
Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Not available. Monetary Limitations. Except under extraordinary circumstances, applications for awards should be for no less than $5,000 and no more than $1 million each. Eligible Faculty (PDs/PIs). Only those individuals affiliated with an eligible Louisiana institution of higher education may act as principal or co-principal investigators. Individuals who are not employed by an eligible Louisiana institution of higher education (e.g., out-of-state scholars, scientists, and/or engineers or employees of industry) may serve as consultants on applications; however, they may not be listed as principal or co-investigators and must not be cited on the cover page of the proposal. Institutional limit. None Costsharing/Matching Funds. Yes Duration of the Project. Multi-year proposals will be funded only in exceptional circumstances and only when substantial justification has been provided.
