Scholarships for Transfer Students

Scholastic Transfer Award*

($2,000-$2,400 per year)

Students transferring from a community college or a four-year college having earned a 3.0 minimum cumulative transfer GPA are eligible for this scholarship.

ULM Scholastic Transfer Award Eligibility Requirements:

Recipients must be transferring from a regionally accredited U.S. institution and be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) for the first time at ULM
Recipients must be pursuing their first bachelor's degree. If a student has earned an associate’s degree and is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree, that student may be eligible for a transfer scholarship.
Recipients must be studying in face-to-face programs. Qualified continuing students who switch to an online-only degree program are eligible to receive 50% of this award.
Scholarship eligibility is determined by cumulative GPA and earned hours at the time of admission. For Scholastic Transfer Awards, the GPA and earned hours are calculated on all college-level coursework (remedial/developmental coursework is not included in GPA or earned hours calculations).

To retain this scholarship recipients must:

Maintain full-time, continuous enrollment (fall and spring semesters)
Successfully earn a minimum of 24 hours each academic year at ULM, August through July (credits from Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, CLEP or credit by exam are not included in earned hours).
Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA; students who enter ULM in January or later must earn at least 12 credits in their first academic semester. Students who enter ULM in October or March (2nd 8-week courses) - scholarships will be prorated for the initial term.

Restrictions:

Certain professional programs are not eligible for transfer scholarships. These programs include: Dental Hygiene, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiologic Technology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, and Pharmacy.
This scholarship cannot be used towards online-only programs. Qualified continuing students who switch to an online-only degree program are eligible to receive 50% of this award.
Students become ineligible for the award once their attempted hours exceeds 180 hours towards a bachelor’s degree, or 90 hours towards an associate's degree.

How to Apply

Applying for a Scholastic Transfer Award is simple! Because your undergraduate application for admission to ULM doubles as your scholarship application, all you have to do is submit an application to ULM. ULM will automatically evaluate your application for any scholarships you may qualify for.

Priority Scholastic Transfer Award deadlines are November 15 (Spring Semester) and July 1 (Fall Semester). We encourage you to apply even if you have missed the priority deadline, as there may still be scholarships available to award.

Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award*

($1200 per year/$2400 total)

To be considered for Phi Theta Kappa, applicants must submit final, official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended and membership documentation at the start of the first term.

Members of Phi Theta Kappa with a 3.5 minimum transfer GPA are eligible for this scholarship as funds are available. The award is valid for four semesters or until graduation, whichever comes first.

To retain the scholarship recipients must:

Maintain full-time, continuous enrollment (fall and spring semesters)
Successfully earn a minimum of 24 hours each academic year at ULM, August through July (credits from Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, CLEP or credit by exam are not included in earned hours)
Maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester; and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

This award may not be combined with any other ULM institutional award.
