2016 Panelist: Corre Stegall

Corre Stegall is currently Vice President Emerita at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.

 

Corre was named one of 16 Most Influential Women of the Delta by Delta Style Magazine in 2011, and a North Louisiana Icon by Bayou Life Magazine in 2014.

 

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education, with magna cum laude honors, and a Master of Arts in Education from Louisiana Tech University.

 

Corre’s career started as the Chair of the Journalism Department at West Monroe High School in 1966. In 1970 she began working at Louisiana Tech University where she was an Assistant Professor of English, Director of Alumni Relations, Director of the Louisiana Tech University Foundation, Executive Director of Development, and Vice President of University Advancement.

 

Highly involved in Greek organizations and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Corre was Kappa Delta's National Vice President from 1977 to 1983 and National President from 1983 to 1989. She served on the Kappa Delta Foundation Board from 1981-2007 and was the Chairman of the Board between 1985-2007. She is currently a member of the Kappa Delta Private Foundation Board.

 

She is also the 25th inductee in Kappa Delta’s Hall of Honor in the sorority’s 118-year history, and Kappa Delta’s highest collegiate award for outstanding leadership is named “The Corre Anding Stegall Leadership Award.”

 

Corre has been the Keynote Speaker at many Greek conferences, the Convention Speaker at several Greek Conventions, and was a Borelli Lecturer at the University of Illinois.

 

Honors and achievements include Phi Kappa Phi, member and Secretary of Louisiana Tech University Chapter; Mortar Board; Alpha Lambda Delta; Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities; Sigma Tau Delta; Outstanding Young Educators; Outstanding Young Women of America; Order of Omega; and Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Louisiana Youth Seminar.

 

Corre serves as Chairman for the Board of Trustees for the Northern Louisiana Medical Center; Lay Leader and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Delegate to Annual Conference, and member of the Strategic Planning Committee for Trinity United Methodist Church.

 

She is currently on the Squire Creek Country Club Advisory Board, and has served on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Northeast Louisiana, and the Susan Komen Foundation Affiliate, Northeast Louisiana.
