ULM to hold needle arts exposition and sale

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Family Resource Center and Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is sponsoring the first ULM Needle Arts Exposition and Sale on Frday and Saturday, Nov. 22nd -23rd. The exposition will be from 10:00 a.m. ­ 6:00 p.m. both days at Filhiol Hall.

There will be demonstrations of needlework skills such as embroidery, crochet and quilting. Also, needlework items will be for sale. The purpose of the exposition is to promote participation in needle arts and preservation of techniques and skills as well as create interest in needlework arts and to explore new applications of technology to the needle arts.

Anyone from ULM or the community is welcome to participate in this event. ULM faculty and staff who would like to participate are invited to place their sale items in the "ULM Needle Arts Boutique". Students will manage this "shop" and will sell those items on consignment for a 10% commission. You can bringone item or a dozen. If your item doesn't sell, there will be no charge. Any ULM department may set up a display for half price - $25.00.
