ULM Junior Casey Chamblee Named Miss ULM 2003

The Winner of the title "Miss ULM" for 2003 is University of Louisiana at Monroe junior entrepreneurship major Casey Chamblee. Chamblee also won the interview, swimsuit, and evening gown award at the 50th Annual Miss ULM Pageant that was held at 7 p.m., Feb. 20, at the Monroe Civic Center.

Chamblee, 20, of Shreveport, is the daughter of Mr. M.C. Manasco. She sang "In His Eyes" as her vocal talent for the competition. During her onstage interview, Chamblee said she hopes to one day own a dress shop in Monroe.

Natalie Williams, 21, senior elementary education student from Monroe, won 1st runner-up. 2nd runner-up was Angela Cruz Hillman, 22, general studies major from Monroe. Jacqueline Cain, 20, junior pharmacy major, from Orange Beach, Alabama won 3rd runner up. Fourth runner-up was 19 year-old music education major and talent award winner, Anna Katharine Scott, from Monroe. For her talent, Scott sang an Italian Aria.

Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening was Miss Louisiana 2002 Casey Crowder. Miss ULM 2002 Rachael Lowe was on hand to crown the 2003 winner.

Nine contestants competed for the crown, scholarship money and the opportunity to be in the upcoming Miss Louisiana pageant, which will be held in Monroe in June. Contestants were judged in several categories including interview, talent, swimsuit and evening gown.

The winner of the Miss ULM Pageant receives full tuition and fees for fall 2003 and spring 2004 semesters. First runner-up receives full tuition for fall 2003 and spring 2004 semesters. Second runner-up receives all fees paid for fall 2003 semester.
