ULM Graduate Named to New Orleans Mayoral Fellows Program

Jonathan Garza, a 2001 ULM graduate and native of New Iberia, has been named to the Mayoral Fellows Program in New Orleans City Government. He will be serving as a fellow in the Chief Administrative Offices of the City of New Orleans. "I am very excited about the opportunity to serve in the (Ray) Nagin administration, as well as to work on issues which are critical to the city of New Orleans. I feel that my education while at ULM prepared me extensively for this opportunity," Garza said. Garza graduated with a degree in government and a minor in history. He served as an intern for both Representative Billy Tauzin and Senator John Breax. From 2002 2003, Garza also volunteered with Americorps helping tutor disadvantaged children in inner city New Orleans. Garza is currently a graduate student in the Public Administration master's program at the University of New Orleans.
