Theaterworks.ULM Tickets on Sale

Tickets for the upcoming Communicating Doors at The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Black Box Theatre go on sale Monday, November 10th. Reservations for the comic, time-traveling mystery, may be made by calling the theatre box office at 318-342-1414.

Communicating Doors, by Britain's leading comic playwright Alan Ayckbourn, concerns Phoebe, a young woman of the future, who is called upon to witness the confession of a dying old man. He, or rather his accomplice, has killed his two previous wives. Confronted by the accomplice - who does not wish others to know of his illegal "activities" - Phoebe dashes into the closet. She returns from hiding only to find that the room is now occupied by the old man's long dead second wife, who is very much alive. So too is his first wife. The three women travel back and forth in time, trying to prevent the murder of any one of them.

The ULM production of Communicating Doors features a unique "alley staging." This seating arrangement permits a community between actors and audience not otherwise available in traditional staging. It also restricts the number of seats available for each performance and requires that latecomers not be seated under any circumstances.

Performances of Communicating Doors are scheduled for November 13, 14, 15, and again November 20, 21, and 22. All curtains are at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Tickets are $8 general admission, $6 seniors, and $4 children. ULM students, faculty, and staff free with ID. Reservations may be made by calling 318-342-1414. Tickets may be picked up at the box office the evening of performance. Reservations not picked up by 7:15 each evening are released for resale at that time.
