TeachNortheast to Hold Final Information Session of the Semester

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will hold an information session for TeachNortheast, its Alternative Certification Program, Wednesday, March 9, from 5-7 p.m. in Strauss Hall Room 148

TeachNortheast is an innovative approach to improving student achievement in northeast Louisiana by recruiting, selecting and training individuals from well-rounded backgrounds who possess the relentless drive to achieve results. Although northeast Louisiana school districts are in great need of math, science, and special education teachers, TeachNortheast is not looking for specific types of applicants.

The program also serves teachers who are currently employed by a school district and interested in pursuing certification. ULM's TeachNortheast program challenges motivated individuals from all backgrounds to make an investment in Louisiana's future by becoming a teacher and raising student achievement. Through TeachNortheast teachers can teach in their own classroom while earning their teaching certification. Applicants must have a college degree and a 2.5 undergraduate GPA to apply.

ULM will offer training and support and tuition assistance is available for select candidates teaching in high need districts and high need fields.
