Mike Francis speaks at ULM

Mike Francis, secretary of state candidate, spoke at 7 p.m. August 28 in the student study lounge, located on the second floor of ULM’s administration building. ULM College Republicans hosted the event.

Francis' speech provided the ULM community with a unique opportunity, said John Sutherlin, College Republicans advisor and assistant professor of history and government.

"Often we complain about not getting more information about our elected officials. This will be an opportunity for students and faculty to meet someone running for one of the most important statewide positions — Secretary of State,"  Sutherlin said. “Since this office concerns elections and businesses (including non-profits), its impact is huge.”

Francis serves as chief executive officer for Francis Drilling Fluids, Ltd., one of the Gulf Coast’s oldest drilling fluids companies.
