ULM marketing director leaves to pursue Ph.D. program

ULM Marketing Director Kevin Stuart is leaving his position Friday, July 21 to pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin.

“Being a small part of the great transformation of this university has been a privilege,” Stuart said. “I've never worked anywhere where employees had a stronger sense of mission.”

Stuart will become a Ph.D. student in the Department of Government (with field areas of public law and political theory). He will also be employed as the administrative research assistant for the interdisciplinary concentration in Western Civilization and American Institutions.

He has been with ULM since February 2003, excluding a break from September 2004 until January 2006 to pursue his master’s degree in government from the London School of Economics. Upon his return, Stuart became ULM’s director of marketing.

Stuart said that working at ULM confirmed his desire to remain in academia and helped him take steps toward that goal.

During the interim, all related marketing and publications inquiries (both internal and external) should be directed towards Laura Harris, ULM’s director of media relations. She can be reached at 318-342-5447 or at lharris@ulm.edu.
