Bry Art Gallery exhibits alumni artistry

The Bry Art Gallery in the Division of Art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is currently showing a two-person Senior Exhibition of paintings by Jennifer Clark and graphic design by Renee Parnell. This is the fourth of six exhibitions featuring the work of 12 bachelor's of fine arts recipients.

Clark is showing acrylic on canvas paintings dealing with closely cropped landscape images. The radical cropping of these images highly abstracts the subject matter and emphasizes their inherent design qualities over any reproduction of specific landscapes. She is also displaying digital color photographs pursuing the same aesthetic concepts as her painting.

Parnell is offering full color commercially printed graphic design pieces, most of which were created for her current employer. Also included in her collection are freestanding wood, bronze and plaster figurative sculptures as well as polychromed figurative relief pieces.

This exhibition is open from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, and 7:30 a.m. - noon on Fridays. The exhibition will close on Friday, July 7.
