Monday's Nexus addresses P-40 Warhawk

On Monday, Oct. 2, a panelist consisting of people who work at the Louisiana Aviation and Military Museum and members of northeast Louisiana General Claire Chennault's family will present "P-40 Warhawk," as part of the Chautauqua Nexus series.

On Oct. 9, Ann Smith will present "Ecotourism and Environmental Education: Black Bayou Lake NWR."

On Oct. 12, Chris Pealer of YMCA will present "Metaphors and Metaphysics: Children and the Ark of the Covenant."

On Oct. 16, Monica Bontty will present "The Other Women of Ancient Egypt."

Of her upcoming talk, Bontty said, "The best known woman in Egyptian history was not even an Egyptian - Cleopatra was pharaoh of Egypt, the last ruler of the Ptolemaic line that was established by one of the generals of Alexander the Great ... This talk explores the fascinating world of the 'Other women of ancient Egypt' and provides information representing a range of perspectives on women, gender and sexuality in ancient Egypt."

Nexus presentations are free, informal and open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend. ULM FRYS students are encouraged to attend.

All events are held at 7:15 p.m. in room 134 of the Airways Sciences building, located on the corner of Northeast Avenue and Filhiol.
