LSBDC at ULM to offer “Employment Taxes” workshop July 22

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will present a free "Employment Taxes" workshop Tuesday, July 22, from 6 - 8 p.m. in the ULM Administration Building, room 2-52.

The workshop presents an overview of a person’s responsibility to report payroll taxes for workers employed in his/her business. It will include the following information: Federal Employment Tax Responsibilities, Employee vs. Independent Contractor, Payroll Records and Withholding Taxes, Depositing and Reporting Employment Taxes, Employer’s Annual Federal Tax Forms 940, 941, 945, Trust Fund, Failure to Deposit, Other Penalties and Interest Collection Process, and Information Reporting – Forms W-2/W-3, 1099 MISC, 1096.

Enrolled Agent Gina Jones and Tim Thomason of the Louisiana Department of Labor will be the speakers.
