ULM Division of Music to perform traditional Biedenharn Home Christmas Concert Dec. 2

Festive sights and sounds will greet guests as they enter the historic Biedenharn Home’s Fountain Room Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. as the ULM Chamber Arts Brass Quintet presents its annual Christmas Concert.

Always a favorite event to usher in the holiday season, this concert features some of the finest talent at ULM. Marilynn Gibson and Jack White, trumpets; Dr. James Boldin, horn; Dr. Micah Everett, trombone; and Myron Turner, tuba, will perform several traditional selections such as “Carol of the Bells” and “Sussex Carol” with Coralie White on celeste.

Dr. Matthew James, new associate dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at ULM, will be included in this year’s celebration along with seasonal favorites sung by the faculty vocal quartet, consisting of Drs. Claire Vangelisti, Susan Olson, Deborah Chandler, and Mark Clark.

“The Twelve Days of Christmas,” featuring Dr. Mel Mobley, percussion, with the Brass Quintet is a traditional crowd-pleaser.

The Monroe Garden Study League will have the home decked out in fine festive array in keeping with this year’s theme “There’s a Song in the Air.”

A reception will immediately follow in the Welcome Room. Tickets are $10 and are available by calling 318-342-1414.
