ULM Alpha Lambda Delta chapter celebrates outstanding freshmen students at reception Sept. 23

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, the ULM chapter of national honor society Alpha Lambda Delta will host a reception, the annual Smarty Party, from 5-6 p.m. at Bon Aire, applauding the 276 freshmen students at ULM who have scored 24 or above on the ACT.

Dr. Martha Anderson, ULM assistant dean of students and Alpha Lambda Delta liaison administrator, expressed her pride in ULM’s newest class. “This mean our freshmen at ULM have outstanding academic potential for qualifying for the prestigious Alpha Lambda Delta that honors students with GPAs of 3.5 plus after their first semester in college. We are thrilled that we have these top students at ULM.”

The ULM ALD chapter has been awarded the Silver Membership Award for 2008. Spring initiates saw an overall membership increase of 25 percent to 132 members. Dr. Harry Hale, professor of sociology, serves as the ULM chapter advisor.
