Reception honors ULM employees

University of Louisiana at Monroe faculty and staff were honored during an Employee Recognition Reception, held April 1 in the University Conference Center.

President James E. Cofer expressed his appreciation to the hundreds of employees gathered for the reception, and stressed the importance to the university of retaining the best and brightest among ULM faculty and staff.

Dr. Richard Hood, executive assistant to the president, presented plaques, certificates and other awards to employees with five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service.

The packed room gave a standing ovation to two employees with the greatest length of service. At 40 years of service, those employees were Paul Dunn director of entrepreneur studies at the Louisiana Small Business Development Center, and Samuel Logwood, a maintenance worker in the property control department.

The Employee Recognition Reception is held annually in the spring to recognize and reward faculty and staff for their commitment and loyalty to the University. A complete list of 2009 recipients can be found at:
