ULM’s Roshto one of five in nation honored for service to national organization

Patricia Roshto, a University of Louisiana of Monroe accounting instructor, recently returned from Brooklyn, New York, where she was honored as an outstanding Beta Alpha Psi faculty advisor for 2008-09.

Roshto was only one of five advisors from around the nation to receive the recognition this year, which began in 1969 in memory of Richard E. Claire by the Andersen Foundation.

Beta Alpha Psi, a national honorary organization for financial information students and professionals, recognized the five advisors based on several factors, including years of service, various chapter activities and chapter awards.

For their service to Beta Alpha Psi, Roshto and the others received a plaque and $5,000.

Roshto has been an accounting instructor at ULM for 25 years and has been a faculty advisor of the Eta Sigma Chapter at ULM for six years. Her research focuses on pedagogical topics such as course design, student engagement, student performance and student motives.
