ULM spring 2009 nursing convocation honors 31 graduates

The University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Nursing Convocation ceremony for 31 students was held Friday, May 15.

Students who had been inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing were presented honor cords to be worn with their graduation regalia, signifying their honor graduate status.

They are:

Covington received the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society award for the highest overall grade point average in the graduating class.

Covington was also awarded by the faculty as the Outstanding Student in this class. Anglea McCorvey received the Student Peer Award. Both of these recognitions honor professionalism, ethics and outstanding practice skills.

Nursing graduates include:

Linda Holyfield, president and CEO of P&S Surgical Hospital, served as guest speaker for the event.
